this is... the contents of my handbag

Swap cards generously given to me by this lovely lady
Business cards by Marcel
Business card picked up at Seamstress
Panda clip bought from Robio
Tram ticket promoting the Melbourne Comedy Festival
Softie key ring holder by Pei Pei
Handwritten recipe for Thai Beef Salad
Sewing wallet by Mistress of the upper fifth
Business card by Cottage Industry

Now my bag will get a nice clean out ready for next weeks business cards and knick knack collections.

For next week I would like to suggest a theme, one that I've been secretly hoping for for awhile. Anastasia recently posted about it, describing it perfectly! For next week I suggest 'This is my knack knick/jewellery box'.

I'm off to peep into other people's handbags! Thanks Sharon!

photobooth friday and handbags

Inspired by Hula Seventy, I convinced (wasn't too difficult) Brooke to do a photobooth shoot with me one Friday afternoon. After a glass of wine and some dress rehearsals we piled into the squishy photobooth and here is a peek at the results!

Vist more photobooth goodness here & here.

Sharon has given the green light to 'This is... the contents of my handbag' for this Sunday. YAY!!

this is... who is suggesting this is

Number 12 was the number drawn from the sewing basket which leads us to Iris + Lily! Sharon from Iris + Lily gave two great suggestions, 'this is my favourite colour combination' and 'this is the contents of my handbag'.

My personal favourite and a popular choice is 'this is the contents of my handbag' but I will leave the final decision up to Sharon to choose which theme we go with. Stay tuned...

my dream studio

I could spend hours tinkering & exploring in Hannah Kopacz studio. I discovered Hannah via Craftzine.com, they publish a great craft magazine that's worth getting your hands onto. You can usually pick up a copy in Borders Bookstores or for Melbourne folks Magnation.

There have been so many great suggestions for 'this is...'. Thank you!! I will draw a number from my sewing basket tomorrow... stay tuned!

this is...

This is my demon - Chocolate! I can't have any chocolate larger than a flake bar in the house otherwise it will be eaten in one sitting, in spite of Franjo's attempts to teach me that a box of chocolate can last a week. Chocolate = no self control.

Thank you Drewzel for your theme this week!

For next week's theme I would like to ask everyone for there theme suggestion. I think the best way to do this is to leave a comment with your suggestion and on Wednesday I'll pick a number out of a hat.

Today I'm having a 'bed in'. A good 'bed in' involves the company of a cat, wireless internet, a pile of books and magazines, blanket worthy cold weather outside and a box of freckled chocolate. I prescribe a good 'bed in' atleast once a month!

what i'm loving right now

My framed rosella clock that I bought from Meet me at Mikes yesterday and Japanese craft magazines.

I forgot to mention in my linking 'on my desk' frenzy last night to pop over to Kirsty's blog for more 'on my desk-ness'. You should pop by and say hello and show us what is on your desk too!

this is... my creation

Sew Your Own is my little cottage industry business I created 12 months ago. I started out selling my Miss Buttons Kits with three Melbourne stores and I now stock to 70 stores across Australia, New Zealand and the US. Sew Your Own is featured in the April Issue of Get Creative magazine due out very soon, I received my copy today and was surprised to see that I received a four page spread!

For our next 'This is...' theme I would like to ask Drewzel for her suggestion!

this is... me taking a break

Apologies for not being ready for today's 'this is...'. I've been spending time with the Living Creatively stand and haven't had enough light & time to photograph today's this is.

Tomorrow isn't an opportunity to post my photo either as I will be helping my 'Bestie' (aka bestest friend) to move house. And not just ANY help my bestfriend move house but help my bestfriend move house because she just gave birth FIVE days ago and she was given notice TWO weeks ago because the LANDLORD decided to sell up!!!!!!!

I've secretly planned that she will spend the day at my house with a ready made lunch and a freshly made bed with all the mod-cons while I help her partner move house.

What I can share with you today though is 'What is a Meme'. Thank you to Betty in the Kitchen!

postcard

I picked up this postcard from the local opshop today.
The postcard reads...

Dearest Marj,

A happy birthday to you on "OUR" day. I'll be thinking of you as I celebrate my 80th in Bristrol with Andrew's family & Janet (from France) & Chris (from Oxford), a bit of a tonic during this long, grisly winter!

Think of you often, dearest friend.

Love & blessings Paul.

I've cheated a little with my 'this is' this week, we can do that can't we!
This is... looking out my back door. I hope Brooke won't mind.

Feel free to join in with 'this is...' admittedly I have been slow to adding new players to my blog roll but I will add your link soon, I promise!

For next weeks theme I would like to ask Betty the Geek for her suggestion. I like geeks, I'm engaged to one.

bloggers block and a sausage dog

I've been suffering from a bit of bloggers block lately, symptoms include being at a loss at what to post about. The flipside is the Sew Your Own assembly line has been in full swing while I've been trying to kickstart my blogging mojo. With the help of Brooke's super folding, pressing and stapling skills the Sew Your Own warehouse (re: hallway) is overflowing with ready to go Sew Your Own-ness.

Speaking of the super talented Brooke, she made this sweet lady pictured above especially for moi : )

She arrived with her own name and loves all typed up on her own little doggy carry bag.

name: pebbles.
loves: rocks, rock n roll & fairies.

on my desk

The usual office desk paraphernalia
Owl Avon perfume bottle
Bird sticky tape dispenser - my favourite!

Thank you Kirsty for your Wednesday meme and thank you Brooke for your 'This is...' theme for this Sunday!

I forgot to mention I found this blog last week, it' called Inspiration Boards.

Monday, March 03, 2008

this is...

This is... two of three inspiration boards I use in the studio. The top inspiration board is one that is changed and updated often to suit new projects or to help explore ideas. The second inspiration board is my main board, it is so overflowing that one false move and the whole lot could end up on the floor!

Many apologies for my late 'this is...' post. Yesterday was a day filled with unexpected events from visiting a new Mum with a new baby to an impromptu dinner at Lygon St and a movie to waiting for a tow truck to tow away our car with an unexpected sick engine. All this resulting in arriving home at 1am last night.

Time for me to have a peek around blog land to view some inspiration boards!!! For next week I would like to ask Brooke for our 'This is...' theme!
