what's on the film?

I bought this instamatic at a jumble sale with used film still in the camera, there was one exposure left so yesterday I took a photo and wound on the film and this week I'm going to get the film developed.

Ofcourse I will forewarn the photo lab that whatever is on the film is not mine but lets hope the film is undamaged and we are likely to see a few kingswoods (circa 1970), perhaps some VW kombi vans with roof-racks full surf boards or perhaps some vintage holiday snaps from the Amalfi coast : )

nice day for it

Today's overcast drizzly morning was a perfect time to finish my first knitting project (other than a scarf). I just need to hand sew up the seam of my beanie and sew in a pom pom.

I think there will be some more beginner knitting projects before I start on the swedish mittens. I wonder if Morris & Sons sell bags of patience and concentration?

I still haven't quite worked out how tumblr works, I joined up tonight but I think it's going to take me a bit of playing around before I announce my tumblr address. I'm really inspired by Oh Sweet Woods tumblr's page and I love the online photos (above) she collects.

I first discovered Miller Goodman through Allison's online shop. I seriously want these jigsaw blocks framed and on my walls!

yuko kitahara

Yuko Kitahara is a Japanese ceramic artist who recently left a comment on my blog post about Yokocho Gallery in Tokyo.

Yuko kindly thanked me for taking a nice photo of her work inside the gallery and asked if she could possibly use the photo for her business card! A disc was promptly sent!

Last night I noticed the photo of cards with her cute ceramic dogs on her blog : )

studio life

Beci Orpin's beautifully sun filled, colourful and clean studio featured in this issue of Inside Out magazine makes me want to spring clean my own studio space.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who dreams of one day scoring a great studio space, my tiny crampt front room just ain't working! Maybe with some upcoming Open Studio days at the Nicholas Building and the Abbotsford Convent I might be even more tempted to make that dream a reality!

On another note... I've been wanting to give a big thank you to Inside Out magazine for mentioning my Three Buttons blog this month... I love getting my hands on their magazine and seeing my name inside alongside Hello Sandwich, Love-You-Big, Pretty Little Pins and Pia Jane Bijkerk was such a delightful suprise and honour!! Thank you : )

I have just finished reading about Anita Cummins who 'wrapped, wound and trimmed over 700 pom poms in a myriad of colours and tones' for her current exhibition.

The Pantone Pom Pom exhibition is at Mailbox 141 until 22 August.

eye spy... a collection

I spied a collection theme over at Bug and Pop's and decided to join along to show my little slowly evolving collection of ceramic figurines.

I started my ceramic collection to have as bonboniere gifts for a wedding that I'm still slowly preparing for. Imagine how cute they will look with lace cloth and ribbon filled with white almonds tied to around each one, they will be so hard to part with : )

Banana smoothies for strawberry sundays has a weak spot for ceramic figurines too!
