Here are some unopened goodies that I have been saving up to look at today. The latest delicious Frankie magazine, Craft Culture magazine issue twelve from Craft Victoria, I'm yet to open my paper & fabric pack I bought from the talented Aunty Cookie and I'm itching to look over a pack of vintage greeting cards I picked up at Meet me at Mikes. I love Sundays!

genki springtime caravan

I would like to introduce you to Miss Allsorts photographed above. Not only is Miss Allsorts appearing as cover girl on the next issue of Mixtape zine but she is also going to be auctioned as part of the Genki Happy Springtime Caravan exhibition. All proceeds of the caravan auction will be donated to The Melbourne City Mission (bids close 7pm Wednesday 5th September). The Genki Caravan will exhibit unique and wonderful works that will be auctioned. The caravan will be located in the City Square, Swanston Street on Tuesday 4th & Wednesday 5th September from 11am - 2pm and 5-8pm. I predict it will be the event of the year!

craft as a career

Next week Craft Victoria will be presenting a seminar 'Craft and Design as a Career'. I've pre booked a seat and can't wait! There will be so many great guest speakers who will be discussing various aspects of their own crafty career. I'm sure there are still seats available, so you may be able snap up a spot today!

Today I'm listening to The Greatest by Cat Power, I love this CD! Great music to listen to whilst rotary cutting and waiting for a fabric delivery. One last thing before I go I would like to introduce you to Arthur's Circus, she is new to our land of blog so why not pop over and say hello! Arthur's Circus is a new little store soon to open in North Melbourne and by the looks of there business card it is going to be impressive!

thrifted tuesday

paper.string.cloth is the brain child behind thrifted tuesday and since I'm always popping my head into a charity shop every week I thought I would like to post on thrifted tuesday too!

I found these goodies at the op shop between Caulfield station and the Magnolia Square market. Vintage fabric 3m only $3, Happy Birthday card .50c, cotton cards $1. The smile on my face, priceless.

market treats

The Magnolia Square Market turned into a mini blog meet! I had a great time and enjoyed putting faces to blog names. And it's always a pleasure working alongside Allison from Lark Designs.

This photo was taken in Nana and Pop's backyard. We had a summer garden party for no particular reason and all our neighbours were invited! I'm in the front wearing a yellow sun hat and looking mischievous as usual.

This weeks theme is Group Photo, I have already spotted some great photos posted. Next weeks theme will be Tshirt, you know the ones! Phone home ET, I shot JR, ABBA, Australian made, Star Wars. I may be setting a challenging one but I'm confident we must all have a great Tshirt photo lurking in our dusty albums.

magnolia square markets

Tomorrow I will be working along side Allison from Lark Designs once again. We will be selling our wares at the Magnolia Square markets. A crafty market with crafty talented designers. I know Aunty Cookie will be there! Pop in and say hello if you can.

Gorgeous Chanie from a gorgeous shop called Genki brought back a little fabric gift from her recent trip to Japan. She found this fabric gem in the basement of a fabric store. It's my own piece of Japanese Retro! Thank you Chanie.

It's a fancy dress flashback friday!

I'm really excited to share what happened this week regarding our Flashback Friday posts. I received an email and goes something like this:

I found your flashback photo fascinating, reminding me exactly what my childhood was like and guess what I'm in that photo. (refer to party flashback post)

My name is Nikki I'm on the far right in the blue floral dress. I recognise many faces.

I scrolled down to laugh at the Allsort costume. I did ballet and was a candy cane, but desperately wanted to be in a coloured box too as I remember my neighbour Katie got the Allsort costume.

I am still blown away by this email, wow the internet is an amazing place! Because of this email I would like to suggest that next Flashback Friday our theme could be group photo pre 1985.

mmm doughnuts

I had a great time helping Miss Allison from Lark Designs during the recent Life in Style trade show. Lark's products were very popular and so they should as Allison has designed the most cutest selection of goodies!

Being involved with the trade show also gave me the opportunity to meet many other local designers, such as Nicola Cerini and Nancy Bird.

It was great hanging out with Pip on Friday during our first day jitters. Overall it was great experience!
