book sale

This morning I went along to the books@manic & modern journal book sale. They are having a warehouse sale of books on architecture, art, design, graphic design and photography. Needless to say there is now a small dent in my 'yen' savings but some nice new additions to my bookshelf!

If you're interested in going along, here are the details.

paumes

Today I received a parcel from my friend Allison, inside were five Paumes books neatly wrapped with some Belle & Boo wrapping paper. They looked so pretty I had to take a photo!

I'm tempted to wait to open them tomorrow, when I can pick up the new Frankie magazine and then I'll be in printed pages bliss!

angry penguin

Last week when walking into the city I passed this rather articulate graffiti, it's without saying that I spent the rest of the walk imagining scenarios of who, how and when this graffiti ended up on the post.

In a happy coincidence Victoria has just posted about her happy graffiti finds, I can see the start of a flickr group!

my creative space

Or perhaps it's a little more like what's on my desk, which is in part my creative space. Lots of books to inspire, I hope to give a sneak peak over the next couple of days... stay tuned.

Thank you Kirsty for hosting 'my creative space'!

penguin

Book cover designs are my weakness so when I discovered these two penguin themed books at the op shop today I couldn't leave without them. And while conveniently on the subject of penguins and book covers I also came across these (pictured below) new penguin classics pattern-inspired book covers. You can find more information about them here and you can admire some more beautiful book covers here!

Psst! If you haven't already heard of Shelfari, may I recommend you take a peek here!

this is...my current reading material

I'm cheating again and a little late for This is (bad host I am)! To be honest I haven't had much time to indulge in a reading list of late. But soon to be on such a list is this knitting book I spotted in Sweden. The styling is amazing!

Thank you Champagne Dreams for your theme, I would like to ask Hokey for her suggestion next week.

this is... my favourite children's book

From as far back as I can remember I had a copy of The Complete Works of Lewis Carroll on my bookshelf. I remember losing myself in the stories and thinking how out of this world they were. It was certainly great for the imagination!! Alice in Wonderland is by far one of my favourite children's book.

Thank you Potty Mouth Mama for your theme this week! For next week I would like to ask Handmaiden for her suggestion : )
