the underrated fruit sticker
Yes, the humble fruit sticker once overlooked and destined for the bin has now become a little collectable item for my 'Wreck This Journal' assignment.
I have some fruit sticker favourites (like above) and admittedly I will now buy a piece a fruit determined by it's sticker! Could be worse I guess, I could have to collect wine labels!!
So now that my eye is trained to no longer overlook the humble fruit sticker I've started spotting them everywhere, behind train seats, on the foot paths, stuck to poles, on the stairs. It's kinda like a "Where's Wally" fruit sticker hunt.
Zee Sweet, spotted at the South Yarra train station.

Someone I work with has a collection of fruit stickers down the side of his locker.
I will have to take a photo to show you.
You're doing very well with your wreck this journal assignment. I've been so slack.
Oh I love this! How fun, I think I need to make a brooch that says 'I heart fruit stickers'. I just love searching for things, I'm going to be on the look out now :)

I too am doing a Where's Wally? with fruit stickers - but only because my five year old appears to be playing the same game as you. DO YOU KNOW HOW EVIL THOSE THINGS ARE WHEN TRYING TO PRISE THEM OFF A NEWLY CLEANED SPARKLE-ARKLING WINDOW? Seriously considering signing up to the 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' thing. And I know they are little graphic wonders. Grrr.
Do you know how many of those stickers are swallowed?
I heard they are blocking the drains to Werribee. Nuff said....
Oh, I don't like the idea of the humble fruit sticker clogging up the drains!!!!
These underrated stickers don't sound as harmless as I thought!
I've never thought of collecting fruit stickers, but now I'm suddenly inspired :)
some of the stickers are really well designed :) I keep finding them on the carpet :/ and they don't come off that easily :p
I'm having real trouble with that page in my journal: the only fruit I buy with stickers on are lemons for my hummus making and the very occassional apple when I'm too lazy to go the farmers' markets for my fruit...
Maybe I'll ask my friends to collect for me or try the idea of liberating found ones...
This is funny to read today as my 4 year old and I started collecting fruit stickers today. He usually sticks them to my back and I usually find them 4 hours later.
wow! you've got a good selection.
the ones i have in my journal are mostly the same.
my friends and i used to cover our homework diaries with fruit stickers in high school.. think i might still have it somewhere. i must learn to throw things out.
