From as far back as I can remember I had a copy of The Complete Works of Lewis Carroll on my bookshelf. I remember losing myself in the stories and thinking how out of this world they were. It was certainly great for the imagination!! Alice in Wonderland is by far one of my favourite children's book.
Thank you Potty Mouth Mama for your theme this week! For next week I would like to ask
Handmaiden for her suggestion : )

I love this book! Would you believe it's on at least two university units I've done in English and European Studies. And I'm teaching it next year :)
Yes!!! I love Alice In Wonderland, though I always got scared when she shrunk!! Great choice. Thanks for letting me pick the theme, it was such fun!
I love those black apple prints too I think that they sum up the story so well. It is one of those timeless classics.
Good choice and beautiful illustrations! I got a different publication of the book in an antique shop a while back.
Yes! Alice in Wonderland is a great story! It's a creative story that can stand time. :) Perfect choice!
Ah, Alice! I've just been looking up some of the John Tenniel images this morning, I'm using them in an Itty Bitty Book Swap page I'm doing (http://bellgirlsblog.blogspot.com/2008/08/marie-in-wonderland-wip.html). This is my first week doing "This is", and so far I think every book everyone's posted has been one I loved!
yes!! i think this is a classic for a lot of us!
cant wait for the Tim Burton movie...
yes loved it as a kid, still love it now!
I saw the movie (an English version) somehow years before I read the book. I'm thinking I didn't read yet at that time, and found it quite mesmerizing and but not as frightening as The Sorcerer's Apprentice which was actually made before I was born.
I know I saw the Disney Alice when I was 6 and a half in 1951. That seemed benign by comparison
Our imagination is such a wonderful thing. I too remember being swallowed up in the fantasy of Alice in wonderland. Great post!
Excellent choice!!
I just posted mine... always a few days late, but its there! LOL
I love Alice in Wonderland. I love the nonsensicalness of it. And those drawings by Emily are adorable.
