pattern upon pattern

In the latest issue of Real Living magazine there is a little how-to on mixing up and layering textile patterns, pattern upon pattern was a noticeable styling trend I saw echoed along the shop fronts and boutiques of Copenhagen when I had visited there last year with Allison. Here are some snapshots of the pattern on pattern eye-candy I had stumbled across.

Pictured above was a small billboard located outside a pharmacy... nothing like our Amcal billboards!? So pretty!

my creative space

My creative space today is my makeshift photographic studio. Clean & tidy isn't it! - that's because I cleaned it up before I took a photo : )

Today I'm taking product shots for a friend and experimenting with them with poladroid.

inspiration on my desk

Books, books, colourful inspiring books!

A little gem that I picked up on the weekend titled Petit Pattern Book - Flowers & Leaves, comes complete with a CD-ROM full of beautiful vintage inspired flower and leaves patterns. The author suggests a handful of ideas on how to use the patterns from printing straight onto fabric from your home computer to making your own letterset. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this one!

Borrowed from a friend, Jeu de Paume - Children's Rooms "Stockholm" is an absolute visual delight and a great source of interior inspiration. I think I want to collect the whole Paumes book series!

Lastly, a new Japanese interior magazine purchased from Kanga Kanga. I hope to scan in some of my favourite pages for a little show and tell very soon.

sneak peak

For a long time I've admired Pip's eclectic house and quirky interiors and for a long time I've been itching to visit again with camera in hand! So if you're a bit of a interiors voyeur like me, you might enjoy peeking at the photos I snapped of Pip's house recently. Thank you Pip!

On another note but not too far from the topic at hand, it won't be long before we can take a peek inside Pip's very cute book, showcasing some very good Aussie talent!!

love at first sight

When I spied this little gem on My Champagne Dreams post about Chapel Street Bazaar, I jumped on the Sandringham Line and headed straight to the store to see if it was still available. But as cupid would have it, it wasn't meant to be.

photography

I came across some old 'photoshoot' photos I had taken of my bestfriend when we were 17. I've always loved taking photos and I'm pretty certain I always will.

my creative space

My Creative Space:
Each Thursday post an image of what's in progress either on your desk, sofa, desktop, at the kitchen table...whatever...

I'm playing along with Kirsty's brand spanking new 2009 'My Creative Space' meme! And well since I was in the process of posting a post on Three Buttons, I thought today I would share my creative space when attempting to blog : )

summer holidays

The summer holidays have been kind to me and I was lucky enough to escape to the east coastline where the sun shone a little extra sunshine. And now I'm home and I'm struggling to get back into my routine. Not an unusual side effect from taking too much time off!

I hope you too, had a lovely break!
