what's on the film?

I bought this instamatic at a jumble sale with used film still in the camera, there was one exposure left so yesterday I took a photo and wound on the film and this week I'm going to get the film developed.

Ofcourse I will forewarn the photo lab that whatever is on the film is not mine but lets hope the film is undamaged and we are likely to see a few kingswoods (circa 1970), perhaps some VW kombi vans with roof-racks full surf boards or perhaps some vintage holiday snaps from the Amalfi coast : )

Watch this space...

Is it 35 mm film? It might have a film cartridge setup. They might have to send it overseas to process it! (like they do with Super 8 film) What a journey those photos will have had if that is the case! Ooooo!

I just bought two little instamatics at a thrift store so I was excited to see your post today that you have one as well. Is it the 126 film? I love finding old rolls of film that once belonged to some one else and getting it developed. How exciting!

It's very exciting!! Thank you for all your comments, I did try a photo developing place today who could only recommend another place in Carlton.

After a little bit of online research I've found out that it needs a special kind of film (type 126) and it's 35mm film, but are in square format.

I'm back looking for photo labs tomorrow!

i used to have this same camera- it didn't wind the film on properly so all the images overlapped in a totally random way.

i love that you were compelled to develop the mystery film

btw, i'm off to japan in march courtesy of amazingly discounted tickets. yay!
