Good choice! I gave it to my Dad for his birthday last year ... he lives overseas but enjoys exploring the hidden side of Melbourne on his bicycle when he visits.
Thank you for mentioning the blog. I am in Sydney and went to buy the Slow Guide to Sydney, but found that when I thumbed through a copy in my book supermarket it was full of stuff I actually already knew about. I bought instead the Sydney and Melbourne Design Guides ... found on http://www.sydneydesignguide.com/ These are great and full of places and things I am so keen to explore. That doesn't mean the Slow Guides aren't good. I'd for sure buy the Melbourne one if I was visiting Melbourne again.
