molintika

I hope you like her as much as I do!

her name was yoko

I made a friend when I was in Tokyo all those months ago. When we meet she introduced herself, telling me her name was Yoko. She then pulled out a card and pen to write her name and drew a speech bubble around it. When she handed it to me I thought to myself, like just about everything in Tokyo, that is just too cute!!

Or as a friend said, it beats a smilie face!

cyber adventures

Last night was the first time in a long while that I sat in front of the computer and clicked around le internet heading off into a cyber adventure.

Sometimes I think back and wonder what did I do before the internet?! I definitely think I watched a bit more TV, can't imagine I was reading much, though I probably daydreamed more. Do you remember what you did?

little tokyo shops zine

I can finally reveal my little side project!

Little Tokyo Shops Zine is an online zine with inspiring shop images and print and follow maps outlining 32 independent Tokyo stores across four districts.

Many of the shops featured support both local artisans and designers who sell beautiful handcrafted and original items and who often provide extra exhibition space to showcase artist's work.

I've been working day and night making sure my zine is as accurate and detailed as possible. I wish I had this zine when I went on my Tokyo trip, so I hope it is a useful resource for those heading to Japan.

Little Tokyo Shops is available now via my Etsy store. I made the decision to charge $5 as much love and many hours have gone into making the zine.

Enjoy and Happy Adventures!

i see bunnies

On my walk to work in the mornings I walk across an old bridge, then on past some protected wetlands that then leads onto the track alongside the river.

It's always such a magical walk in the mornings, so you could imagine my surprise when one wet morning with umbrella in hand I spotted two bunnies hopping across the wetlands, the next day it happened again and so the spot-the-bunny days continued.

All the while when on bunny watch I've always walked past a white blotch on the track to which I have never really taken much notice, until a couple of days ago. It turns out the always upside down white blotch was a bunny with an arrow pointing down to the other track that I have never walked down.

One day I'm going to walk down that track but for now when I walk past the white bunny arrow my overactive imagination pictures a field full of bunnies roaming!

spring has sprung

What a beautiful Spring evening to finish a busy work week, here is little of what I've learnt this week!

Cate Blanchett is feeling the Pip 'granny square' love!

Spotlight's
humble beginnings started at the Vic Markets!

Two young teens trapped down a well updated their Facebook page revealing their plight and were rescued!

The Ink & Spindle girls have screenprinted over 2700 metres of fabric in the last year, by hand!

Lark
is opening their new shop within days!

And who would of thought going to bed before 9.30pm I could face those 6am wake up calls : )

I'm very much looking forward to the weekend and finishing my 'behind-the-scenes' project so I can reveal all very soon!!

Happy Friday Evening!

juggling act

You may of noticed it's been a little quiet on Three Buttons lately. The main reason for this is because I'm currently juggling two freelance jobs, teaching part-time and all the while keeping up with Sew Your Own. Phew! I'm also working on a little something on the side to which I hope to reveal in a day or two!

Fingers crossed I will have time to find some inspiration again soon!!

mikes bikes

Not long ago I bought the most prettiest bike from Mikes. It's so pretty and now I'm on the hunt for a basket for the front and a rack on the back and I'm set for some around town adventures :)

I also love the ever changing bike outside White Moss florist, it's the cutest shop sign in town!

not quite the amalfi coast...

Not quite the Amalfi coast but very close! It's a coast!

The photos are back from the photo lab, lots of lighthouse and coastline photos but no surf boards on roof-racks! I surprised myself with my seaside themed guess to what was on the film!

Does anybody recognise the lighthouse or coastline? I think they may have been taken in Queensland? Or NSW perhaps? Are these your holiday snapshots?

The mystery continues...

Did you know there is a wealth of information and photos on Vintage Ceramics and Enamel found over here! They're the kind of treasures I keep my eye open for in op shops but alas I've never found them. Have you?!
