Well hello! I noticed I haven't popped into this space for close to one year and although I always intend to start regularly blogging again it just never really works out that way. I've been spending my days tending to the whims and fancies of my imaginative and playful three year old, baking, gardening and jumping in puddles. I do hope I can pop into the space again regularly, to share what I've been looking at, what's been inspiring me and what I've been doing. Fingers crossed!

Oh Pinterest you time waster and muched loved website. I would hate to add up the hours I have spent scrolling through Pinterest late in the evening, stealing my time from other pursuits...like blogging! You can find my Pinterest picks over here.

craft time!

I couldn't wait until my little Luka was old enough to enjoy some craft time. We are often collaborating our craft especially when it comes to gift giving. I thought it would be nice to share some of our weekly collaborations.

After seeing the origami gift bow tutorial on Pinterest I thought it would be a great idea to use one of Luka's paintings. I set him up with some yellow craft paper and some black paint and sat back to let him do the rest. After the paint dried and Luka went to bed I went to work folding and creasing our bow. The next day our gift was wrapped!

celebrating

Hello! I'm still here, busy bee I have been. In the midst of toddler wrangling I have been celebrating birthdays for the big and small people in my life.

My Mum's last visit coincided with her birthday. Inspired by her life long dream to ride in a hot air balloon, I decided to throw together a little hot air balloon themed birthday brunch just for us.

I went completely mad and attempted to make a 3D paper hot air balloon using this tutorial. After I saw the tutorial on Pinterest I was eager to make several for bunting but after several attempts I opted to make just one for a cake topper instead. It required all of my zen and hand co-ordination to make one but it was very satisfying to complete it. Still eager to make bunting I went for something a little more easy and used this tutorial for some paper balloons.

I'm going to join the Fleamarket Finds meme, if there is one thing I can do with my toddler these days it is to visit opshops. Lets hope it lasts! And I'm so glad he got over the opshop phobia stage.
