day stay

I would have to say that all the comments left on my Luka's settling post was just about true. Just when I thought Luka had settled he did the complete opposite and became quiet distressingly unsettled, distressing in the fact that I didn't know what was wrong with my little man!

Off I went and made a quick call to the Maternal and Child helpline whereby I was politely and gently told Luka is just being a baby and infact he was at the age when crying would start with avengence. Thankfully someone at my mothers group recommended the Frances Perry Day Stay programme where I was able to learn some great tips on settling. The programme introduces the use of the Sounds of Silence CD, which can sound a little demonic but it's the white noise that mimics the sound of the womb so works a treat on settling. We also watched the DVD The Happiest Baby on the Block which shows some great settling techniques.

After seeing Luka sleep soundly throughout the day while at my day stay I was certainly not going to argue that these things didn't work and enthusiastically went home to try them out myself. I'm pleased to say that they have been working a treat... with some narly bits during arsenic hour but we're working on that.

I best not say anymore incase it all goes out the window next week!

Heard a rumour that I missed you today at CHALK Kensington. What a shame, would have loved a visit from an old blogging friend. Congrats on the new and gorgeous addition to your family and hopefully I'll see you at CHALK again soon.

that's the fun about being a parent, just as you thought you'd sorted it all, the world turns upside down and you start again. I have no advice for you, i'm sure everyone has put in their 2 cents worth already.
Feel free to complain to me though, i'm a good listener (and am on twitter alot at odd hours)
