new life, new mum

My new life as a new Mum has been sleepy, rewarding, challenging and all encompassing. What one would expect really. Luka now rewards us with big gummy smiles and baby coo's, it's all sooo cute!! He gave Daddy lots of little treats for Father's Day... pooey nappies... lucky Daddy.

I'm amazed everyday how local shop keepers and even strangers in the community all want help or love to say hi to Luka, it feels great to be part of such a great community. Just the other day I walked past a big burly council worker working away with his leaf blower, I needed to walk past him and I was hoping he would spot us and let us through. Thankfully he did and as we walked past he asked in a very clucky voice "How old?" when I told him he give a big sweet smile and said "Aww, brings a tear to me eye seeing 'em so little. Reminds me when my little girls were that young, gee they grown up fast ya know".

Luka is now close to six weeks and a big 4 kilos, the weight of a bag of navel oranges as the local fruiter tells me : )

First time visitor to your blog - don't suppose it will be getting too much attention now! Are you still relegated to the backseat of the beetle?

Happy mothering!

Gorgeous little Frank! I agree so much with your comment about the community - it's so amazing how a sweet little bub encourages engagement. I remember marvelling at that and then feeling so much more part of my community after becomming a Mum.

Hi Angela, first time on your blog and it's really lovely, as is your utterly gorgeous bub! I also remember feeling more connected to my local community when my first child was born 4 years ago - parenthood is indeed a new life!

What a beautiful babe! So glad he has brought so much joy to your lives. I love how such a small person can reduce almost anyone to a simpering teary eyed wreck of happiness.
